Abstract

Using of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as the energy carrier instead of traditional oil kinds of fuel approaches time of practical application of hydrogen. Perfection of cryogenic fuel tanks for LNG also promotes this. For maintenance of motor transport by necessary reserve of LNG are created the cryogenic fuel tanks (CFT) which answering to numerous requirements: effective and inexpensive heat insulation; availability in tank of automatic system for maintenance of working pressure in the set range; maintenance of reliability operation, safety and durability. Examples of application of CFT in automobiles of various models are resulted. The opportunity of use of LNG on shunting gas-diesel locomotive is considered.
