SYSTEM OF BIOGAS COLLECTION AND UTILIZATION OF LANDFILL SOLID DOMESTIC WASTES

Many countries in large volumes of biogas are collected from the solid waste landfills. The same were started to do in Ukraine. Specialists of the gas Institute National Academy of Sciences developed the main aspects of the system collection and utilization of biogas from this source using reliable methods of the calculation of effective technical solutions and materials. At the landfill in the Kiev region is reported about the creation such a system, consisting of the 44 boreholes, each of which has a capacity near 20 m3/h. Mathematical modeling and calculations of the system were performed using the program complex «GazKondNeft». The biogas produced at the landfill is used in the five gas-piston engines with electric generators of production company «TEDOM» (Czech Republic) the model «Cento T180». General electrical engines power is 925 kVt. Electricity is transmitted into a centralized network. Further development of the landfill will allow to increase collection of biogas and to bring the power of installed equipment for the production of electricity up to 4,5 MWt.
