THE EXPERIENCE OF WORKING OUT AND USE OF “GRIF” FILTERS FOR CLEANING UP COMPRESSED GASES

Abstract

The increase of requirements to cleanliness of the compressed gases is apparent. For this purpose different types of filters are used. A technique for obtaining fibrous porous fluoroplastic-4, named Griftex, by a laser ablation method has been described. On its basis different Grif filters for cleaning up compressed gases from polar and nonpolar contaminants are made. The Grif filters are recommended to install near the place where the cleaned up compressed gas is consumed. The experience of successful application of Grif and Grif-T filters for cleaning up compressed gases, namely, the air of low and high pressure, natural gas, the gases containing hydrogen, etc. has been gained. The positive results on cleaning up compressed carbon dioxide from oil aerosols have been obtained. In that case the compressed carbon dioxide was supplied for carbamide synthesis under the pressure of 15 MPa.
