The state of the aquatic ecosystem of the Tuzlovska group of estuaries reflects an increase in the man-caused load, which predetermines the process of its degradation. Thus, at the present stage, the natural conditions of the estuaries of the north-western Black Sea coast are characterized by widespread anthropogenic transformations. The most massive type of anthropogenic impact on estuaries is agriculture. In connection with the intensification of agricultural production, the area of eroded lands increased dramatically and the river network of products of erosion washed out, including pesticides and fertilizers. In addition, in the water facilities of the region, which feed on the estuaries, a regular discharge of sewage is carried out.
The ecological assessment of the water quality of the estuaries of the Tuzlovska group was carried out. The purpose of the study is to assess the impact of pollutants entering the estuaries.
The object of the study is the quality of waters of the estuaries of Shagan, Alibey and Karachus. The calculation of ecological assessment of water quality in the rivers of the region was carried out in accordance with the «Methodology of ecological assessment of surface water quality according to the relevant categories», which, on the basis of common environmental criteria, allows comparing the quality of water in separate sections of water objects in water objects of different regions. assessments are presented in the form of a joint assessment based on the final conclusions in three blocks.
According to the results obtained, it can be concluded that the suitability or non-suitability of water for certain needs. Analysis of data shows that the condition of estuaries meets the requirements of sanitary norms established for water objects of fishing purposes. The results of the environmental assessment indicate that the waters of the estuaries are in a satisfactory state, but if measures are not taken to improve the condition, the quality of the water will be degraded.
