Ecological and economic problems of forest use on radioactively contaminated land in Kyiv region

The article identifies and analyzes the main environmental and economic problems of forestry in Kyiv region, which were exposed to radiation pollution as a result of the Chernobyl disaster. The data of liquid wood harvesting in the region are analyzed taking into account the contaminated territories and the positive dynamics of forest reproduction for the last years is presented. The main economic gaps in the loss of forestry of the region have been identified. The current indicators of radiation pollution of the territories are given, which allows to use them in further forecasts and researches. Emphasis is placed on the insufficient competitiveness of forest enterprises of Kyiv OULMG.
