We construct a velocity model of the upper mantle beneath the island arcs in the northern and western parts of the Pacific Ocean for the arrival times of longitudinal seismic waves at seismic stations in these regions. Revealed anomalies may indicate a very young geo-synclinal process. Typical velocity model of the upper mantle of island arcs is fully consistent with the advection-polymorphic hypothesis of deep processes.
