The team of the Subbotin Institute of Geophysics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine sincerely congratulates Ivan Fedotovych Dudkin on his birthday and wishes him good health and creative inspiration.
Ivan Fedotovych worked for more than 30 years at the Institute of Geophysics. He invested a lot of effort and energy in the formation of the Institute's marine geophysical research and dozens of times took part in expeditions on research vessels of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Ivan Fedotovych is one of the most famous Ukrainian travelers. He is active in extreme sports skiing expeditions in the Far North, mountain climbing on the peaks of the Caucasus, Sayan, Tien Shan, Himalayas, Alaska, etc. On foot, on a catamaran, bicycle, motorcycle, hitchhiking, he covered tens of thousands of kilometers in the most interesting corners of more than 80 countries of Europe, Asia, America and Africa.
Ivan Fedotovych is a well-known photographer in Ukraine and abroad. His photos were shown at numerous photo exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad (USA, Mexico, Cuba, Lebanon, Poland, Tunisia, India, Vietnam, etc.). The author of numerous publications about various exotic corners of the world, Ivan Fedotovich is an excellent example of a thirst for knowledge of the world. Among his photo projects, the permanent exhibition "America. Nature and Civilization" at the US Embassy in Ukraine. The high creative level of the master is evidenced by the response of John Herbst, former US ambassador to Ukraine (April 28, 2005): "Mr. Dudkin is a talented photographer, self-sacrificing artist, cultural ambassador...; his photographic works are permeated through and through with the fluids of a poetic and romantic vision of the world...; I like his subtle sense of the world around him and his respect for the people and places he portrays."
Ivan Fedotovych is a member of the National Union of Photographic Artists and the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.
On his birthday, Ivan Fedotovych published a short essay on his life on Facebook, which truly impresses with its sincerity, humanity and love of life. With the permission of the author, we present the full text of this wonderful work.
