The features of earthquakes in the center of the Dnieper-Donetsk Basin are being studied. Such events had not occurred for a century, but have been occurring near Poltava often in recent years. The reasons are unknown. Events can be generated by natural and man-made factors: activation of tectonic deformation fields, intensive production of the fluids, other large-scale man-made activities. A comparative analysis of seismicity, geophysics of the Dnieper-Donetsk Basin, and similar oil and gas provinces is performed.
