The article briefly describes the history of the Geological Faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Outstanding teachers and graduates are mentioned - one of whom is Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Starostenko Vitaliy Ivanovych - a graduate of the Department of Geophysics in 1958.
