On the clinical material of 107 patients with combined body injury there was found the typical peculiarities of the damage depending on the value of the body mass index (BMI) and gender. The obtained results showed that in the general structure of polytrauma men dominate. The severity of their injuries is directly proportional to the BMI increase. The importance of BMI is less significant in women, as under the conditions of the same mechanisms of injury they received milder injuries.
