Ukrainian language law, which has developed over the past thirty years, is a part of the field of language rights studies. The article analyses the provisions of the fundamental normative acts of Ukrainian language law – the Constitution of Ukraine, the laws "On ensu-ring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language" and "On the use of the English language in Ukraine," as well as the security law "On National Security of Ukraine" as tools for ensuring national security. The connection between the content of the legal provisions, language policy, and language planning is explored from the perspective of guaranteeing national security.
