Abstract

The article, which is presented to the attention of professionals, is devoted to the use of leading means and forms of massage in dental practice. The author notes that massage is an indispensable component of treatment algorithms in internal medicine and dentistry. Its functional content and orientation consists in applying dosed mechanical irritations to the body surface, coordinated with various methodical methods and carried out purposefully by the masseuse's hand (manual) or special equipment (hardware). The article also says that despite the presence of powerful scientific-theoretical and methodological potential, the use of massage elements as means, forms, and methods of therapeutic tactics are issues that require further development. A high level of scientific controversy is raging around the problem of the systematic use of massage for patients in the dental field, the frequency of its sessions, and seasonality. The issue of indications and contraindications for the use of massage in specific postoperative patients, patients with neurological pathology as a leading component of the pathogenetic scenario of a number of related dental diseases is not clear-cut.
