International experience of support for elderly people in the context of active longevity

The article explores international experience in supporting the elderly in the context of active longevity. The main approaches to ensuring active aging, which include maintaining physical, social, and intellectual activity, are outlined. The key aspects of the concepts of "successful aging," "healthy aging," and "active aging" are examined. Special attention is given to the latter, which encompasses the ideas of "healthy aging," "successful aging," and "productive aging," and is of the greatest significance today.
The importance of integrating the elderly into society through participation in community life and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is revealed. Key strategies implemented by different countries to ensure the quality of life for older people, including social support programs, medical services, and educational initiatives such as "Universities of the Third Age," are identified.
International approaches to creating an enabling environment for active longevity are formulated, including expanding opportunities for self-realization, participation in social initiatives, and continuing professional activity. It has been established that active participation in social life and the availability of opportunities for social interaction contribute both to the improvement of physical health and the preservation of cognitive functions.
The positive impact of international practices on reducing social isolation among older people, which contributes to increased longevity and quality of life, is investigated. Special attention is given to ensuring access to public transportation, living in special communities, participating in community social life, and health maintenance practices. The article also focuses on the Universities of the Third Age, detailing their models and unique features.
