Abstract

In the modern world, where information technologies have become an integral part of life, the media play a key role in the socialization of young people. Their influence has increased significantly in the context of information warfare, when the media not only reflect reality, but also shape it through mechanisms of manipulation, filtering and targeted disinformation. Young people, as the most active audience of digital platforms, are especially vulnerable to these processes, since they receive a significant part of their information precisely through social networks and news resources. As a result, not only the transformation of ideas about the world takes place, but also changes in behavioral patterns, value orientations and social interaction. The socio-psychological impact of the media on the younger generation in the context of information warfare is manifested through several main mechanisms. First, the cognitive impact, which consists in the formation of worldviews, beliefs and attitudes through repetitive content. Young people often perceive information uncritically, which leads to the emergence of stereotypes, simplified explanations of complex social processes and polarization of opinions. Secondly, the emotional component, which manifests itself through involvement in conflict discussions, creating anxiety and increasing the level of aggression in the online environment. Thirdly, the behavioral aspect, when young people begin to imitate certain media behavior models, which can include both constructive and destructive social practices. Given these challenges, the formation of critical thinking and media literacy among young people becomes extremely important. Teaching the principles of checking sources, analyzing information and recognizing manipulative content will help reduce the negative impact of the media and increase the level of social resilience of young people. In addition, psychological adaptation to the information environment should include the development of emotional intelligence, skills of constructive dialogue and the ability to resist information attacks. Thus, scientific research in this area should not only identify problems, but also offer practical solutions that will contribute to the harmonious socialization of the younger generation in the face of modern media challenges.
