THE SPECIFICITY OF A COGNITIVE COMPONENT IN THE SPEECH ACTIVITY AT MENTAL RETARDATION

The article describes one of the urgent problems of logopedics: an availability of intelligence and speech abilities correlation in children's speech development. The purpose of this article is to investigate and determine the specificity of interaction between intelligence and speech abilities in children’s speech development, to prove the specificity of the interaction between intellection and speech in children with mental retardation.
The influence of speech disorders on the formation of cognitive activity, especially intellection, in other words – the influence of speech disorders on the formation of intellectual sphere serves as the second aspect of the interaction problem in the development of intelligence and speech activity.
