The article is devoted to the research of problem aspects and the substantiation and deepening of the
probable ways of developing an ecological and economic mechanism for the protection of agricultural land
from degradation processes in the context of balancing the interests of society and the environment. It
is established that the main tools of the state policy in the field of land relations regulation, which in the
process of transformation affect the nature of production and property relations, have a significant influence
on the efficiency of agricultural land use, contributing to increasing the interests of economic actors
in efficient land management. It is determined that in order to prevent further degradation processes on
agricultural lands and ensure their fertility preservation, it is necessary to strengthen state regulation of
environmental activity at all levels. First of all, due to the elements of institutional provision, it is necessary
to streamline the functions of management in the field of land relations regarding the use, protection
and protection of agricultural land from degradation processes.
The conceptual provisions of the formation of the ecological and economic mechanism of protection
of agricultural land from degradation processes that take into account the legal, organizational, economic
and social aspects of such formation are substantiated. The application of these provisions made it possible
to form a structural and logical scheme of the ecological and economic mechanism for the protection of
agricultural land from degradation processes, which involves the ordering of the set of elements, and the
relationship of its main components, implemented in the form of tools, methods and technologies.
