The purpose of the article is to highlight concert life in Ukraine late XX – early XXI century through the example of non-commercial areas of music, represented by academic, including avant-garde, ancient and folk music. Research methodology is the use of historical, cultural and search methods. The above methodological approach allows to identify and summarize the main trends of concert life in Ukraine late XX – early XXI century in its diversity, in particular to identify the most relevant forms of representation of non-commercial music in its diversity (academic avant-garde, ancient and authentic folk direction). Scientific novelty lies in identifying the most promising forms of presentation of contemporary academic avant-garde, including increase of visual appeal and synthetic forms of concerts, which significantly expands the potential of artistic events and contributes to the interest of audience to contemporary academic music. Another important trend of modern Ukrainian concert life is the update of sound environment through inclusion of electronic music into concerts as well as old music of European traditions and authentic folklore. The third trend is the expansion of the music venue network and updating of various activities such as "concert plus". Conclusions. Today concert life of Ukraine in the field of non-commercial music is very diverse and generally comparable to the world trends. Some of the trends mentioned above, are in line with global processes (updating of synthetic forms, strengthening of a spectacular component and expanding of venue network). Inclusion into concerts of electronic music, old music of European traditions and authentic folklore and updating activities such as "concert plus" is a characteristic feature of concert life of post-Soviet and Ukrainian cultural environment, especially in case of expanding of sound diversity, as sound renewal process in the world occurred earlier.
