Methodology. The problem is presented from the standpoint of conceptual analysis within the framework of a humanist ideological paradigm. The cultural self-determination of a modern man is articulated in the psychosocial aspect: the conceptual parameters of the topic are methodologically actualized within the framework of value-semantic and ethical and cultural scientific approaches. Scientific novelty. The problem of the inner-spiritual development of the personality is presented in the article from the standpoint of philosophical and cultural discourse: the questions of the essence of processes of self-determination, self-identification as the implementation of the «programmatic» potential of the individual are clarified, attention is focused on the ethical problems and problems facing the person in the modern world. The affirmation of the system of cultural values transforms the ethos of the person towards the deployment of processes of cultural cultivation, which has a decisive influence both on the processes of improving the inner world of the individual, and on the «cultural space» environment. Conclusions. The article substantiates the provision that the conditions for the implementation of cultural self-determination in personal development are the affirmation of man as a social being, with the ability to design his own inner world for other people and to understand other people in the acts of communication, while preserving the harmonious unity of his «self». The inner-spiritual development of the personality of a person is identified with the notion of mental, psychological and cultural development in the way that a person is capable of cultivating himself as a result of the possibilities of mental perception of reality and change of his own being.
