Mass holidays of independent Ukraine: traditions and innovations
Abstract
The purpose of the article is to identify and systematize changes in the practice of mass holidays in Ukraine since the restoration of its statehood. The methodology of the research is to apply factual, analytical, comparative methods that made it possible to carry out an accurate description of novations and innovations in the practice of mass celebrations, to reveal significant changes in the content load of existing holidays, innovations in the restored and to establish the peculiarities of new ones, which were introduced in the independent Ukraine. Scientific novelty of the article is the founding of a connection between socio-political changes in our country and shifts in the practice of mass celebrations, as well as in the classification of innovations in them. Conclusions. The forms of modernization of traditional holidays and the influence on this process of enrichment of technical possibilities of their organization are revealed. Positive and negative trends of further changes in mass holidays in our country were established and evaluated. It is concluded that one of the significant factors in the transformation of mass holidays is the influence of state regulatory instruments on the practice of mass holidays.
