Emotional performance of the Ukrainian folk song: pedagogical and methodical notes
Abstract
The purpose of the article is to consider the peculiarities of the emotional performance of the Ukrainian folk song via the methodical-pedagogical prism which adds the culturological and art discourse in the context where mainly separate problems are learned which connect with folk song performance. Methodology: firstly, analytical- descriptive method which helps to reveal the necessary connections and content components of the investigation material, secondly, structural-functional method due to which the effect of a complex vision of the Ukrainian folk song is achieved, this song contains some segments which are closely connected between each other making the appropriate quality, thirdly, is used the psychological and pedagogical approach due to which the possibility of considering emotional-mental and aesthetical potential of the folk song via prism of educational-edifying tasks appears. Scientific novelty consists in attention accentuation on the psychological components which are given from one side by the singer understanding of specific of “psychologism” of the Ukrainian song, and from another side, it supports the contact with the folk existence of the Ukrainians where it takes forces for the internal feeling of the vocal work. Conclusions: the given methodical recommendations which can be considered as the pedagogical tasks on which the Ukrainian folk singer should pay attention if he wants to achieve the necessary and strong emotional effect during presentation a specific vocal work among which balance of emotional-expressive and vocal-technical segments; realization of the poetic word importance; applying musical-expressive means (dynamics, nuance, phrase, etc.), giving the proper attention to the singing wish which excites an emotional tone and temperament of the singer; work under the scenic image and some elements of the actor creativity; the singer skill to determine the character of the melody, its dynamic range, find culmination, censorship, moments of breath changings, exercises for breath training during motion (especially the system of three-phase breathing) and of course, psychological component.
