Features of the historiographic research of the spiritual heritage of Paisius Velichkovsky
Abstract
The purpose of the article is to investigate the historiography of the spiritual heritage of Paisius Velichkovsky. The methodology consists of a historical method that was used when examining one of the outstanding figures of Ukrainian monasticism – Paisius Velichkovsky; analytical method - to review the work on the life and work of Paisius Velichkovsky; search method used in the selection of literature and sources to confirm certain statements. The scientific novelty lies in an attempt to systematize the spiritual heritage of Paisius Velichkovsky. Conclusions. The significant spiritual heritage of Paisius Velichkovsky led to a considerable interest in his personality from both church and secular researchers. The author concluded that in modern world science a considerable amount of diverse studies of the spiritual heritage of St. Paisius has been accumulated. At the same time, the figure of Paisius Velichkovsky has not been studied enough by domestic scientists, which leads to the need for complex, specialized research on this issue.
