The purpose of the research. The article compares the musical interpretations of the 12th Psalm in two spiritual concertos – "Till when, o Lord, will you forget me" by A. Vedel and the concerto of the same name, which in various sources has contradictory author attribution (A. Vedel or S. Dehtyaryov), as well as the fragment of the 22nd psalm in the second part of the last concert and the A. Vedel's double-choir cycle "The Lord feeds me". With this approach, it was supposed to find additional arguments to solve the problem of the authorship of the second concerto, "Till when, o Lord, will you forget me." Research methodology is to combine the empirical method and the general scientific logical methods of analysis and synthesis, the hermeneutic approach and the comparative method, which allowed us to discover the individual-style specifics for a certain parameter (the interaction of a word and music on the compositional and dramaturgical level) in the works belonging to the same genre and one historical epoch. The scientific novelty of the work is that for the first time in the musical study of the Ukrainian and generally East Slavonic choral art of the classicism era, an attempt to solve the problem of the authorship of the work by analyzing the interaction of a word and music was made. Conclusions. The consideration of two concerts "Till when, o Lord, will you forget me" allowed us to reveal the significant differences in the composer's approaches to the musical interpretation of the psalms texts, and on this basis make an assumption about belonging of that work, which has contradictory author attribution, to Stepan Dehtyaryov's pen.
