TRENDS OF MODERN BALLROOM CHOREOGRAPHY IN USA

Purpose of the article. To study the trends of modern ballroom choreography in the USA, to analyze the programs of choreographic education and the art of teaching ballroom dances, features of the competitive movement; characterize the activities of leading American professional and amateur dance organizations at the present stage. The methodology of the research is an organic set of basic principles of analysis: objectivity, historicism, multifactorship, systematicity, complexity, development and pluralism, and to achieve the goal, the following methods of scientific knowledge are used: problem-chronological, concrete historical, statistical, descriptive, logical- analytical. Scientific novelty. A multidimensional analysis of trends in the development of modern ballroom choreography in the USA was conducted; the research of the leading American dance associations in the context of the development of competitive sports ballroom dance at the present stage; the main directions of the development of choreographic education are considered on the example of the latest educational programs for ballroom dance students and teachers in the leading universities of the country, as well as curricula developed by the members of the National Association of American Dance Teachers. Conclusions. As a result of the multidimensional analysis of trends in contemporary ballroom choreography in the United States, it was found that the activities of leading American dance associations, as the governing bodies in the field of choreographic art, are aimed at developing education, raising the level of dance instructors, establishing and regulating the regulatory framework of competitions, ensuring the conduct of annual professional, amateur and professional amateur championships and festivals, in accordance with approved by the National Dance Council of America standards, the development of training and methodological support, coordination dance teacher certification program, which is conducted through member organizations NDCA.
