The activities experience of the north american professional leagues at the international sports arena

Modern
professional sport is developing in different directions. Considering specifics of professional sports
leagues works, particularly in North America, emphasis is placed on commercially viable areas.
Today, one of these is the entry of the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB into the international sports
market. Purpose: to characterize the activities specific of the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB at the
international sports arena. Material and methods. In the process of research, the main information
material for the publication was the data of the Internet resource on foreign activities of the NFL,
NBA, NHL, MLB and its key indicators. Materials of scientific publications of foreign authors on
the functioning of professional sports in society were also taken into account. Results. All of these
professional sports leagues in North America are now establishing partnership on different
continents. The NFL is actively taking root in the UK, systematically hosting the NFL London
Games there. Another similar series of games the league holds in Mexico City (Mexico) - NFL
Mexico Games. The NBA has been offering its sporting spectacle in Europe since the 1980s. There
it held the McDonald's Championship and the EuroLeague American Tour for a long time, and
today it focuses on China. The NHL is exploring more of the UK, Germany and Austria for its
matches and friendly matches with teams from these countries. MLB has played a significant
number of games in Japan and also in the UK. The high level of popularity of sports that develop
these professional leagues is ensured by their work with the media, in particular international TV
companies. Today, these professional leagues have somewhat reduced their activity in the
international sports arena due to the threatening pandemic situation with COVID-2019, while the
established ties in cooperation with governmental and sports organizations of other countries still
remain at a high level. In 2021, with the reduction of risks, popular sports in North America will
return to the international sports arena with updated competition formats and an exciting spectacle.
