The article considers the essential characteristics of the concept of financial and economic security of enterprises. The main directions of ensuring the financial and economic security of an economic entity are determined. Factors that adversely affect the financial condition of enterprises are investigated. The basis of the study is a set of theoretical issues of ensuring the financial and economic security of the enterprise and its changes in the implementation of a certain volume of operations in the process of economic activity. The authors found that the goal of ensuring the financial and economic security of an enterprise is to minimize internal and external threats in the context of the dynamic development of the global and national economies. The authors proposed and considered the directions of ensuring the financial and economic security of enterprises that prevent a negative impact on the business image, investment attractiveness, financial and economic stability, solvency, profitability, and a healthy competitive environment of the enterprise. The authors concluded that the financial and economic security of an enterprise is expressed in: a close relationship between all areas of ensuring the financial and economic security of enterprises; developing strategies for effective management of business processes; in the adjustment of financial and economic activities for the implementation of the strategic development of the enterprise; in achieving a high level of intelligent management personnel. Synchronization of interactions in the areas of ensuring the financial and economic security of an enterprise makes it possible to build an effective system of management decisions aimed at the strategic development of an economic entity.
