S. Kalinina, S. Lanska, The Formation of the Standard of Living of the Population: methodological discourse.

In article it was substantiated that one of the most important indicators of the development of the socio-economic sphere of the state is the standard of living of the population. It is proved that in modern economic conditions there is an objective need to ensure a decent standard of living for the purpose of promoting economic growth of the country. The article systematizes the methodological approaches to the formation of the living standards of the population, taking into account the probable consequences for the development of the socio-economic system of the state. It was emphasized that the standard of living of the population is one of the most difficult socio-economic categories. It was analyzed the existing definitions regarding the content of this category. It was considered the stage of economic research on certain aspects of the formation of living standards of the population. Were analyzed different approaches concerning grouping of indicators of a standard of living. Attention was focused on the problem of determining the level of poverty in Ukraine, the indicators that define it were investigated. It was revealed the socioeconomic context of poverty in the modern world. It was emphasized that in the world economy the problem of the growth of poverty of working people is actualized. It is determined that the low social standards in the state do not correspond to the criterion value adopted at the international level. Were described the consequences of a significant reduction in the standard of living of the population and the corresponding threats to the development of the national economy of Ukraine.
