Abstract

The article analyzes the concepts of competitiveness of an organization, competitive corporate culture, and staff development strategy, and clarifies the connection between competitiveness and organizational culture. The type of organizational culture can be a competitive advantage of a company. There are strong and weak organizational cultures that can influence the process of organizational modifications, staff development strategy, and goals and objectives of a company. The work presents the research problem, namely, the determination of the type of organizational culture which contributes to enhancing the competitive performance of the organization. The author analyzes various theoretical and practical research works dedicated to the subject, the most notable ones being the works by E. Shane, M. Porter, I. V. Ershov, and R. A. Fatkhutdinov. The article is dedicated to issues related to determining competitive factors within the institutions of the Republic of Moldova and assessing the actual level of competitiveness of the staff working at the national enterprises. The objective of the article is determining the qualities that characterize staff competitiveness and revealing the connection between organizational culture and the competitiveness of an organization as a whole. Conclusions and suggestions of this research allow formulating an approach to developing a human resources management strategy focused on the interconnection between the internal and external variables within an organization and emphasizing the values and corporate culture of an organization.
