Abstract

The article deals with the concept of a universal commercial Bank that provides retail banking products and services. Retail banking sector is developing in the conditions of increased intra-industry competition, the increasingly significant factor of which is the gradual expansion of participation in the credit market of foreign capital. Problems of assessment of strategic and medium-term prospects of development of retail business of the banking institution should be attributed to subcontractural and unstructured tasks of Bank management. The absolute advantage of most modern software products designed for data collection and detection of multiple hidden relationships between them, is that they do not require the user to have deep knowledge in programming and data structures.
The range of specific problems of development management of a commercial Bank in the retail sector. The authors performed comparative analysis of the existing mathematical methods and information technologies that are used to manage a retail business in commercial banks.
Different implementations of the data mining tools have their strengths and weaknesses. So, the advantages of off the shelf software there are ready algorithms, the vendor's technical support, full confidentiality of information, and it is possible to purchase different modules and add-ons to the package, etc. However, this solution has weaknesses. Depending on the tool, it can be quite a high cost of software licenses, the inability to add your own functions, the complexity of data preparation, lack of the interface in terms of the subject area, etc. This solution requires highly qualified staff that will be able to prepare data for analysis, you know, what algorithms should be used for what tasks, will be able to interpret the results in terms of solving business problems.
