Development of the scientific conceptual apparatus of digitalization and digital transformation

The scientific article conducts a comprehensive study of the development of the scientific and conceptual apparatus of the categories "digitalization" and "digital transformation," which is critical for understanding modern economic processes. The relevance of the work is due to the recognition of the digital economy as a key driver of global development and the need to implement the National Economic Strategy 2030. The authors systematized the approaches of numerous domestic and foreign researchers, analyzing definitions from institutions such as Gartner and Salesforce, as well as the works of leading scholars. It was established that digitalization is primarily aimed at introducing digital technologies to optimize individual business processes, automate functions, and increase the efficiency of communication with consumers. In contrast, digital transformation is defined as a deeper strategic process covering fundamental changes in business models, corporate culture, and organizational structures. The study emphasizes the importance of distinguishing between these concepts: while digitalization focuses on improving existing systems, digital transformation creates new digital ecosystems and provides long-term competitive advantages. Particular attention is paid to the role of international initiatives, such as EU4Digital, in harmonizing digital markets. The conclusions emphasize that the integration of these processes directly affects business performance, allowing enterprises to increase labor productivity and profitability in the new economic realitie
