Abstract

It has been proved that as far as intertextuality is one of the significant traits of postmodernism, the character of its rendering in translation depends on such considerable features as factors of translator’s background information in decoding of intertextual units. With reference to this fact there have been investigated ways of rendering intertextual units and criteria of optimal using of these ways in contemporary English literature
