Peer Review Process

Ars Linguodidacticae considers only original, scientifically sound, and clearly written manuscripts submitted in Ukrainian or English.

Initial Editorial Screening (Desk Review)

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial evaluation by the handling editor. The manuscript is assessed for alignment with the journal’s scope, compliance with structural and formatting requirements, academic clarity, scientific novelty and practical relevance, adequacy of the theoretical framework, and adherence to publication ethics.

All submissions are screened for academic integrity using the StrikePlagiarism system. Manuscripts containing a substantial amount of unoriginal material are returned for revision. Confirmed cases of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, or duplicate publication result in rejection without the possibility of resubmission.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s requirements or fall outside its scope may be rejected without external review. If authors fail to respond to editorial revision requests within 30 calendar days, the manuscript is considered withdrawn.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are subject to a double-blind peer review process. Each submission is evaluated by at least two independent experts in the relevant field.The review process follows the recommendations of the European Association of Science Editors (EASE) and the internal standards of Ars Linguodidacticae. Evaluation is conducted using a standardized OJS review form.

Reviewers are expected to provide their reports within 30 days of receiving the review invitation.

Editorial Decisions

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial decision may be:

  • accept;
  • accept with minor revisions (up to 15 calendar days);
  • accept with major revisions (up to 30 calendar days);
  • reject with the option to resubmit after substantial revision;
  • reject without the possibility of resubmission.

Authors must submit a revised manuscript accompanied by detailed responses to all reviewer comments. All revisions must be clearly indicated in the manuscript. A second round of review may be initiated if necessary.

The overall review process, including revisions, typically does not exceed two months, except in complex cases.
