Abstract

The purpose of the work is to highlight the segments of information technology, which are particularly close to the library business, and should be presented within the framework of IT-oriented library education. The methodology of the research is to apply general scientific methods of cognition, in particular, the author used comparative and survey analytical monitoring of the state of modern information technologies. The scientific novelty of the article is that the areas of information technology that are important for the functioning of the library system have been implemented. The main areas of information technology and library affairs are highlighted. Conclusions. In the substantive aspect, possible alternatives or additional uses are considered: general computer literacy; databases; information analysis; computer networks; presentation systems; communication systems; corporate systems; robotics and artificial intelligence systems
