Purpose of the article. A dynamic implementation of new scientific and technical achievements into all spheres of the society’s life determines new requirements for the modern professional education. The purpose of the work is to find the answer how to reform academic disciplines. Cutting-edge technologies with colossal educational resources inevitably affect the content and organization of the educational process. Methodology. An integral part of many Ukrainian modern higher educational institutions is the faculty of Design with departments of various specialties. The author of the article, an artist and teacher herself, offers an experimental method based on the principle of combining classical tradition and innovations, as well as the system of practical exercises. Conclusions. The article focuses on the principles and methods of teaching Drawing. The author emphasizes the importance of Drawing in the design education, determines the correlation between the traditions of the academic school and new achievements in the field of design technologies and designates the teacher's task.
