Bohdan Antkiv’s oeuvre in the field of musical and theatrical art of Galicia in the second half of the twentieth century

The purpose of the article is to analyze Bohdan Antkiv’s oeuvre in the field of professional musical and theatrical art in Galicia during the period, based on archival materials, to expand and systematize the source base about Bohdan Antkiv in Galician theatres, to evaluate his creative works. The methodology involves the following methodological approaches: systemic, historical, and cultural, biographical, theatrical. The scientific novelty lies in the attempt to investigate the unknown facts about Bohdan Antkiv’s creative activity in the field of musical and theatrical art of Galicia in the second half of the twentieth century. Conclusions. Bohdan Antkiv’s creative activity in the field of musical and theatrical art is a great achievement not only of Galicia but also of Ukraine. He is a musician, choirmaster, conductor, composer, the actor of I. Franko Chortkiv City Theatre (1944–1948), Taras Shevchenko Ternopil Music and Drama Theatre (1948–1963), M. Zankovetska Lviv National Academic Drama Theatre (1963–1998), staging man, a translator with many fans of his talent.References
