Abstract

Purpose: to develop model characteristics of psychophysiological indicators of volleyball players in the specialized training group. Materials and Methods. Ten male volleyball players participated in the study (training experience: 5-6 years; age: 15,9±0,70 years). To assess psychophysiological indicators, a set of specialized programs for tablet computers running iPadOS was used. Statistical analysis was performed using the licensed software Statistica 10. Results. The analysis of model characteristics of psychophysiological indicators showed that reaction to a moving object was characterized by relatively stable mean values at all stages of testing. At the same time, the presence of a fairly wide range of minimum and maximum values indicates individual characteristics of the volleyball players’ sensorimotor reactions. The analysis of choice reaction demonstrated a gradual increase in reaction time from the first to the fourth stage of the test exercise, which indicates increasing cognitive load and task complexity. Spatial perception indicators showed moderate variability in reaction time across different stages of the test. The results of the short-term visual memory test indicate a high level of information retention at the initial stages (stages 1-2). Starting from the third stage, a gradual decrease in reproduction accuracy was observed, reflecting the influence of increasing information volume and fatigue. Reaction times in the Go/No-Go test for the left and right hands were similar. Indicators of functional asymmetry revealed a slight advantage of the right hand in terms of the number of taps and reaction speed, which characterizes coordinated functioning of both cerebral hemispheres. The results of the tapping test indicate significant variability of the indicators, reflecting individual characteristics of the athletes’ neuromuscular performance. Conclusions. Model characteristics of psychophysiological indicators of volleyball players in the specialized training group are presented. Based on the conducted analysis and the proposed model characteristics, criteria were developed for a comprehensive assessment of cognitive functions, neuropsychological characteristics, and complex sensorimotor reactions of the studied athletes. The proposed evaluation criteria allow differentiation of the level of development of individual psychophysiological indicators into high, medium, and low levels, creating opportunities for practical application of the results in the system of pedagogical control and individualization of the volleyball training process.
