Performance statistics from matches in the final stage of the Ukrainian Men’s Volleyball Super League (2024–2025 season)

The aim of the study is to assess the effectiveness of tactical manoeuvres in matches during the final stage of the 2024–2025 Ukrainian Men’s Volleyball Super League and to determine their impact on the final outcome of the matches.
Material and methods. The research material consisted of the competitive performance indicators of the men's teams participating in the final stage of the Ukrainian Volleyball Super League in the season2024–2025. The study analyzed the performance indicators of game actions in the final stage matches of the Ukrainian Men's Volleyball Super League in the season 2024–2025 between the teams Epicenter-Podolyany – VK Zhytychi-Polissya in the final series for 1st–2nd place and the teams MKP-Ladyzhyn-SHVSM-Kolos – Epicenter-Podolyany – Ukraine U20 national team for 3rd–4th place. The analysis included official matches of the final stage of the championship, game protocols, statistical reports, and video recordings of the matches. To achieve the set goal, a set of complementary research methods was used: analysis of scientific and methodological literature and information sources, pedagogical observation, analysis of official competition statistics, methods of mathematical statistics, and comparative analysis.
Research results. The results of the statistical analysis show that the success of teams in the final part of the Ukrainian Super League season 2024–2025 was determined not by the dominance of a single game component, but by the effective interaction of all components of competitive activity. The teams that took 1st and 2nd place were characterized by high stability in receiving serves, a low level of unforced errors, significant blocking effectiveness, and effective counterattacks. In contrast, the teams that fought for 3rd and 4th place demonstrated lower efficiency in attacking and blocking actions, an average level of counterattack implementation, and greater dependence of the result on the number of unforced errors. The results made it possible to establish the structural features of the teams' competitive activities and identify the game components that had a decisive influence on the outcome of the matches.
Conclusions. It has been established that the leading factor in achieving high sports results in the final stage is the coordinated interaction of defensive actions, blocking, and a quick transition to counterattacks, which ensures control of the game situation and the transformation of defense into an effective attack.
