The article summarizes the theoretical provisions and provides practical recommendations regarding the application of the Kanban method in the management of the preparation of student theses in a higher education institution. The conditions, advantages, principles and features of the application of flexible methodologies in the management of the preparation of student theses in a higher education institution are defined. When applying the Kanban methodology, a system of "extracting" tasks for supervisors of diploma theses is used, which is ensured by visualization of the flow of consultations provided to students, limitation of the number of unfinished tasks, and an even flow of the results of each stage of the student's work.
The Kanban methodology ensures the efficiency of the thesis management process: it contributes to a clear distribution of tasks (executors concentrate only on the current work, the amount of redundant communications decreases); transparency of all processes of the thesis; ability to monitor and control at any time; visibility; the ability to measure various elements and processes during the completion of thesis work; scaling.
