Abstract

The article analyzes the historical aspects of the development of the concept of universal quality management (TQM), and outlines its main principles. The author shows that at the present stage, the TQM methodology goes far beyond the limits of the quality management system itself and is the standard for managing organizations. It is noted that with the unity of ideology, clearly expressed in the name of the concept, in each country, it is treated in its own way - based on the characteristics of its historical development and works to ensure quality. The theme of the crisis situation in Ukrainian industry is singled out. It is shown that the degree of radical change within the enterprise is directly dependent on the degree of changes occurring in the external environment. It is noted that the management of an enterprise should formulate a strategy of its market behavior in new economic conditions that have a tendency to further change. Attention is drawn to the fact that only through the formation and implementation of the mechanism of adaptive behavior of industrial enterprises, a gradual increase in their level of competitiveness is possible. It is noted that according to the concept of universal quality management, in order to increase the efficiency of enterprises' activities, to optimize its production processes, it is necessary to observe its basic principles. The work concludes that the concept of universal quality management is one of the mechanisms for bringing the industry out of crisis.
