Abstract

This paper coinsides with the essence of the inventions and their protection, the conditions for patentability of the invention and the basic ways of  patenting. The number of the obtained patents from the European Patent Office, the structure of the obtained patents about the countries of  the world, the dynamics of  the industrial composition of the patent resources in Ukraine and their status in the Donetsk region were analyzed.
