ONLINE INFORMATION CONFRONTATION IN A NET WORK ENVIRONMENT WHILE RUSSIA’S CAPTURING TERRITORY OF CRIMEA (FEBRUARY -MARCH 2014)

Purpose of Article. The study raises the issue of analyzing events, related the informational opposition during Russian occupation of Crimea (2014). The investigated facts clearly demonstrate unusual and unpredictable process of the Russian-Ukrainian hybrid war, the transition from the first to the second stage. Methodology. The research methodology includes retrospectively historical and logical methods and methods of analysis and synthesis. The above methodological approach allows to reveal and to analyse certain processes that are hidden from the eyes of the public, which took place during the 2014. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty is in the fact that it is the first attempt to systematically analyse the information component of the Russian-Ukrainian hybrid wars that took place in all classical forms and means of implementation. In particular, it was held in the spring of 2014. Conclusions. The understanding of the events that we have witnessed over the last quarter of the century, especially the recent years is very important for our country and society as well as the relevant government agencies which are responsible for the national security.
