Purpose of Article is to highlight the place of the medical documentation system of Ukraine in the framework of the Mykhailo Slobodyanik information concept of Record Studies. The methodology of the research is based on the application of such methods of studying the medical branch documentation system, as socio-communication, network, information, etc. The scientific novelty of the paper is based on the idea that the preconditions for the formation of the branch component of the integrated science of the record within the framework of the information concept of Record Studies, based on the specificity of the medical records system. Conclusions. The author’s definition of the object and the subject of the Medical Record Studies, its functions, and structure, in which, in particular, critical theoretical and applied research problems are highlighted. The branch aspect of scientific researchers in the field of the Medical Record Studies is devoted to the research of the electronic records role in the development of the corresponding component of the social communications.
