The Peculiarities of Acquiring the Competencies of the Management and Event Organisation for the Graduates of Specialty 029 "Information, Library and Archival Studies"

The purpose of the work is to highlight the place and role of the educational component "Event Management" as a component of the educational programme of the first (bachelor's) educational level of speciality 029 "Information, Library and Archival Studies". The research methodology is the use of general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, generalisation and abstraction, review and analysis, description and comparison, which made it possible to identify the peculiarities of acquiring competencies in event management and organisation by graduates of speciality 029 "Information, Library and Archival Studies" through the study of the discipline "Event Management". The scientific novelty of the work is the generalisation and systematisation of knowledge about the discipline "Event Management" in the educational programmes of Ukrainian higher education institutions of the speciality 029 "Information, Library and Archival Studies", in focusing on its features in terms of the present and prospects for its development. Conclusions. The study has shown that the formation of competencies in event management and organisation for graduates of speciality 029 "Information, Library and Archival Studies" is an important component of their further development and employment. Due to the transformation of library and archive institutions into social and communication centres and the growing popularity of the event industry, there is a growing need for graduates who can plan, manage and execute events of various kinds. This necessitates the inclusion of educational components related to event technologies (Event Management, Creative Management, Event Technologies, Organization of Representative Events) The lecture material of such courses may include the study of event planning, the use of modern technologies for organising and promoting events, as well as budget management and other key aspects of the event industry. During practical training, students can organise real events, where they will have the opportunity to gain experience in planning and executing various types of events, such as corporate conferences, creative evenings.
