Conclusions. In modern organisations, document management acquires the status of a key component of management activity. Unplanned or unmanaged processes in the field of work with documents can cause disruption of management communications, reduce the efficiency of resource use and generate additional organisational costs. The study analysed the basic concepts of the field of records management, determined the place and role of document management in the management system, characterised the prerequisites for the application of international approaches, and outlined the importance of regulatory and organisational support for the formation of an effective policy for working with documents. Using the example of LLC Starlight-Lviv, it was established that the successful choice of an information product and the implementation of an automated document management system are determining factors in increasing the efficiency of document management and the formation of rational management practices. The use of modern information solutions contributes to the optimisation of document flow, reducing the labour intensity of their processing and increasing the effectiveness of management activities in general. To further improve the management of documentation processes, it is advisable to develop information and documentation services, select the optimal document management system taking into account the specifics of the organisation’s activities, and improve the professional competence of employees responsible for documentation activities.
