Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze the sociocultural activities of the Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine in Lviv, to provide its scientific-theoretical justification, and to determine the role of the implemented projects within the library's modern information and communication environment. Methodology. A complexof scientific methods and techniques wasapplied: analysis, synthesis, classification, and systematization of theoretical data, as well as abstraction and generalization of the study's main findings. Specialized methods included structural-functional, problem-categorical, historiographical, analytical, and documentary analysis. The sociocultural approach proved essential, allowing for a comprehensive representation of the evolution and specific features of the library's sociocultural practices, as well as identifying and characterizing its latest forms and methods. The descriptive method was used to detail specific events and projects. Scientific novelty lies in the actualization of the content and forms of sociocultural activities of a modern scientific library, as well as in a comprehensive study of its space transformation through the integration of museum, digital, and grant-project initiatives. Conclusions. At the current stage of the library's functioning, a fundamental transformation of its sociocultural activities is taking place. Innovative forms of user interaction are being filled with new content focused on strengthening national identity and actualizing cultural heritage in the face of global challenges. The practical implementation of sociocultural initiatives includes the creation of memorial reading rooms, the formation of digital collections, and the organization of public events and exhibitions. The priority vector of development remains international cooperation with the National Ossolinski Institute, which are embodies in large-scale projects for digitizing the funds and holding annual scientific events: «Ossolineum meetings»in Lviv (Ukraine) and «Stefanyk Readings» in Wroclaw (Poland). Such interaction not only contributes to the popularization of cultural heritage, but also strengthens interstate scientific dialogue and ensures mutual enrichment with new ideas.
