Purpose of Research. The purpose of the research is to analyse the features of formation in means of architecture and design for children who are studying in the institutions of art direction. The author also tries to identify the main architectural - design decisions, volume - spatial structures including internal and external spaces. Methodology. The methodology of the study is to determine the main principles of comfortable art space for children of different ages who are studying at the specialized arts institutions. Scientific Novelty. Scientific novelty is the analysis of contemporary design schools ’ area that is aimed at comprehensive development of children, including art schools. The author proposed basic principles that form the school space and optimal functional solution of the art school’s yard. Conclusions. Creating a comfortable space by design techniques will improve the aesthetic and artistic development of children and adolescents. The analysis of the foreign experience allows the author to determine major design techniques and implement the best of them in the optimization of the art schools ’ territory.
