Purpose of the work. The research is related to the attitude of Ference Liszt to the philosophy of Dante Alighieri. We have analyzed the embodiment of Dante’s writing "The Divine Comedy" in the works of F. Liszt, his piano sonatas. Methodology of the research involves application of historically-logical and structural methods. This methodological method allows us to analyze Fantasy-sonata – a key one in the works of F. Liszt – creator of new genres and forms, who rejected genre stereotypes and clichés. Scientific novelty of the work. We have analyzed interpretation of the heading itself, genre synthesis, relation to the program thoroughness and drama peculiarities of Fantasy-sonata "After reading Dante" by F. Liszt, its embodiment in some sort of monothematism and specific sonata one-part form. Conclusions. Fantasy-sonata "After reading Dante" by F. Liszt has become a composer’s first appeal to the imaginative sphere of Dante; first program work – Fantasy-sonata; first work of the composer in a fantasy genre with characteristics of sonata form; first usage and embodiment of a sonata form itself; first work of the composer in sonata genre, with synthesis of characteristics of sonata, rondo and variation forms; first example of a monotheme thinking of the composer; unique work in relation to peculiarities of program drama and its embodiment.Downloads
