The purpose of the research is to identify the essence of philosophical and worldview ideas about ideal of a man by a modern Ukrainian scientist, writer, teacher, theorist and cultural practitioner Anatoly Fed. The methodology of the study is based on the use of the following methods: hermeneutic interpretation – for understanding the writer's life world and
disclosing the content of his world picture; semiotic analysis – for penetration into the depth implicit layers of the semantics of the content of the concept of "ideal of a man"; phenomenological analysis – for revealing the essence and concretization of ideal of a man as a phenomenon of culture. The scientific novelty of the study lies in determination of philosophical aspects of the culturological conception of ideal of a man of Anatoly Fed. Conclusions. The research carried out has allowed to prove that the artistic comprehension of the ideal of a man as a phenomenon of culture is one of the most expressive tendencies in the development of modern cultural studies. This determines its close connection with philosophy, aesthetics, history and arts, in particular, literature. It is in the literary genre of the philosophical novel that the culturological conception of ideal of a man of A. Fed is revealed. Its semantic core is the Man, who is in search of his national identity, his place in society, personal and national history. Through the artistic and philosophical interpretation of the complex, multifaceted im-
ages of the Ukrainian man, the essence of the cultural paradigm of Anatoly Fed is revealed.
