The way of self-knowledge of artist is as Christian mythological model: trespass, penance, expiation. The mythological cycle of self-identification is reflected in Rakhmaninov’s chamber-vocal creation. In the beginning there are: youth aspiration, maximalism of sensibility “transgression” and then conciliation as the demonstration of agreement with the life, seizure of sensation of peace and the conciliation with being. And ultimately is “Expiation” – the endless way, way to God.
