Abstract

The purpose of the article is to justify the features of musical performance in Chernihiv beginning of the twentieth century and its importance in regional cultural creativity in the context of the correspondence of Nikolai Lysenko and Mikhail Kotsyubinsky as a promising vector for the development of regional musicology. The research methodology is based on the use of axiological guidelines in understanding the history of the musical art of the region from the standpoint of modernity. The scientific novelty lies in deepening our ideas about musical performance and its significance in regional cultural creativity at the beginning of the XX century. Conclusions. Culturological understanding of the features of musical performance in the context of the epistolary heritage of Nikolai Lysenko and Mikhail Kotsyubinsky indicates the improvement of the performing culture in the parameters of its professionalization and emphasizes the need for its in-depth study as a promising direction for the musical region.
