The methodology of research is based on the integrated application of methods of analysis, comparison, generalisation, and systematisation. The scientific novelty of the results obtained is that the essence of arrangement as a process and result of creative adaptation of film music is substantiated; the main aspects of classical arrangements, that should be taken into account by a film composer when creating an electronic score, is defined; artistic and aesthetic principles of film music arrangement are proposed. Conclusions. Arranging music for a film is a complex creative process based on the principles of symphonism and carried out by means of instrumentation, transcription, compilation, and composition of musical material. The main methods of arrangement are harmonisation and instrumentation of new compositions and creation of original interpretations of well-known musical works in modern styles. Arranging film music involves a combination of classical composition and instrumentation techniques with modern music computer technologies, which contributes to the creation of high-quality music content.
